Meet the FSSI team:
Keith Knudsen
Keith is the Founder and President of the Florida Storm Safety Institute, where he leads the development of storm resilience programs, coordinates inspection services, manages organizational partnerships, and works to advance the Institute’s mission of promoting safer homes and stronger communities across Florida.
A Florida native, Keith has been working in the construction and inspection industry of Southwest Florida for 10 years, bringing a decade of experience performing inspections and helping residents navigate hurricane safety and its effect on their homeowner’s insurance.
Joshua Holland
Joshua is a business owner and licensed contractor in Michigan and Florida, with over a decade of construction experience in Southwest Florida. As the Owner and Operator of United Peninsula LLC, he brings hands-on knowledge in building performance and hurricane mitigation methods.
As an Army Veteran, Joshua holds strong leadership and operational skills critical in developing teams. He holds a bachelor’s degree in management and is currently pursuing his MBA, bringing a practical and organized approach to his role as Secretary for the FSSI Board of Directors.
Deneisha Facey
Deneisha holds master's degrees in Medical Physiology & Pharmacology and Microbiology & Cell Sciences from the University of Florida and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Microbiology. As an educator at Florida Gulf Coast University for the past three years, she brings valuable experience in curriculum development, scientific research, and effective instruction. Her expertise helps FSSI create high-quality educational programs for homeowners and training resources for future inspectors, strengthening the organization's mission of building safer homes and more resilient communities across Florida.
Having lived in Florida for more than fourteen years, she understands the unique challenges that hurricanes and severe weather present to Florida homeowners and communities.
